It is our last multi-skills session tomorrow. We have had so much fun learning lots of new skills. We are all going to really miss Cat. Mrs Flower is going to try to use some of the exciting new games we have learned in her PE sessions.

1HF had a fantatsic time visiting the new school. They loved wearing all of the safety clothes. Over the next 2 weeks we are going to be writing information leaflets about the new school which we will be sending home for you to look at.

Thank you to all the parents who sent in wellies and boots- it was very muddy!

Today we had a visit from the fire safety officer. He told us all about fire hazards in our houses. He also told us about smoke alarms. He said that we could get free smoke alarms from the fire service. All we need to do is give our names and addresses to Mrs Flower and she will pass them on for us. They will also fit them for us.

We all found the fire saftey talk very interesting.

On Friday we all made fantastic fruit salads! We learned all of the skills that we would need to make our own fruit salads. We can all now chop, slice, peel and grate. We had lots of fun and our fruit salads tasted yummy.

I am really looking forward to reading your Big Write on Monday because you will be writing recounts of making your fruit salads.

This week we have been learning about stories with familiar settings. We have been looking at lots of different Thomas the Tank Engine stories. As part of this we have made our own trains using all of the boxes that we have collected. Have a look at some of our fantastic trains!

On Monday our Big Write is going to be about pirates! Have a think over the weekend of a pirate adventure story that you could write. Make sure you talk to someone about it!

1HF have been lucky enough to have been chosen to take part in Multi-skills PE sessions on a Wednesday afternoon. We had our first session on Wednesday- even though there were only 11 children in the class! We had fantastic fun and all really enjoyed all of the activities.

It would be really helpful if all children could bring their PE kit on a Wednesday as it will really help the children to fully take part.

What a funny first week back at school! I hope that everyone had lots of fun in the snow on Thursday.

On Friday we all wore non-uniform to help raise money for Children in Need. All of 1HF looked fantastic and we all really enjoyed eating our cakes. Thank you to all of the Mum’s and Dad’s who helped make our non-uniform day a huge success.

We have been learning all about traditional tales and have been reading the story of the 3 Little Pigs. We had to design new houses for the little pigs. Mrs Flower even pretended to be the Big Bad Wolf! She couldn’t blow down all of the houses because they were so strong. Have a look at one of our brilliant houses!
